Structural carpentry
A carpenter who turns up and reads the drawing.
Roofs, floors, first fix, beams, decking and structural repair — for builders, main contractors and self-builders across South Wales.
What we take on
Structural timber, cut and fixed properly.
- Roofs
- Cut roofs, trussed roofs, dormers, valleys and hips. Set out on site or cut in the workshop.
- Floors
- Joisting, decking out, strutting and firrings. Steel-to-timber connections where the drawing calls for them.
- Stud and first fix
- Partitions, openings, noggins and grounds, ready for second fix.
- Beams
- Oak, glulam and softwood beams sized to the engineer's drawing, and installed.
- Decking and external timber
- Terraces, steps, balustrade and screens, in oak or treated softwood.
- Structural repair
- Rot and beetle damage cut out and spliced, wall plates renewed, roofs propped and rebuilt.
- Oak frame repair
- Replacement members scarfed into existing frames on older buildings, jointed to match what's there.
- Frames for other trades
- Oak frames cut, dry-fitted and delivered to site for your own team to raise.
Why builders use us
Engineered structures are the day job.
The same workshop has spent years building climbing and bouldering walls: load-bearing timber structures that get hammered daily, get inspected, and have to be signed off. Loadings, fixings and tolerances are not a conversation we need to have twice.
- Drawings read and queried before we start, not halfway through
- Machinery, racking, a forklift, CNC and laser in the workshop at Llandow
- Comfortable working under building control and to an engineer's spec
- A mobile number that gets answered
Send the drawing and the dates.
We'll tell you straight away whether we can take it and what it'll cost.
